New Ground

New Ground is a subscription for the self you are building: a written library you keep coming back to, and a guide in Willow's voice that helps you set down what you are making of this and return to it later. US$19 a month, or US$149 a year. It is not therapy, not coaching, and not a plan.

You are past the part where the question was an emergency. Something in you has turned toward what happens now, and you found there was nothing written for that part, because almost everything about early motherhood stops at survival or skips to the far side and calls it recovered.

You are not looking for someone to tell you what to do about your partner, your employer or your mother. You are looking for somewhere to think out loud about the woman you are actually becoming, without it turning into a plan with steps in it.

If the question you are holding is who was she and where did she go, that is the other half of this, and it is Mirror.

The library. A fixed set of written pieces for the forward work, read in your member library and kept there. It does not arrive in monthly instalments and there is nothing to keep up with. It is all there from the day you open it, and you come back to the pieces that are alive for you rather than working through them in order.

The guide. Forward-facing reflection in Willow's voice, on what you are building and what you are becoming. It is not Willow, it says so if you ask, and it works the way the writing does: one question at a time, short replies, no advice, and no arriving at somewhere tidy.

Sessions you can name and come back to. Kept until you delete them, so the thinking compounds instead of restarting. There is no read path for anyone at Willow Reed, by design rather than by setting.

Read what you want, when you want it. Nothing is scheduled and nothing expires while the subscription is active.

Bring the guide whatever the reading turned over. It says back what it heard and asks one question about it, and it will stay in the difficulty rather than closing it off. The building is not finished and the writing does not pretend it is.

What it will not do is hand you a script for a conversation with your partner, a plan for your work, or instructions for managing anybody. That is not restraint for its own sake: the moment it starts doing that, it stops being a place to think and becomes one more voice telling you how to do this.
