Mirror

Mirror is a private space for the question who am I now. You write, at whatever hour you are awake, and a guide in Willow's voice stays in the question with you rather than answering it. It is a subscription: US$19 a month, or US$149 a year. It is not therapy and it does not diagnose anything.

You have typed some version of why do I feel like I have lost myself since having a baby into a search bar, and what came back was a screening questionnaire or an instruction to take more time for yourself. Neither one was about the thing you were describing.

You are somewhere inside matrescence, the identity passage of becoming a mother. You miss a specific woman. You cannot say so out loud to the people around you without it sounding like a complaint about your child, so you have stopped trying.

Mirror is for that. It is not for advice about sleep, feeding or anything a doctor should see you for.

The guide. It speaks in Willow's voice and works in her territory. It is not Willow, it never claims her life as its own, and if you ask what it is it will tell you plainly that it is an AI guide. Willow Reed is a pen name and the experience behind the writing is not, and neither of those is something a companion gets to blur.

The ground it knows. Ninety-nine questions across nine territories of the identity shift, at three depths: the word itself and what you called this before you had it; being handed a condition when what you had was a passage; the pre-mother self on an ordinary Tuesday; grief with no witness and no day it happened on; what you put down with relief; the qualifier every honest sentence has to be paid for with; the gap between the name people use and the person who answers to it; saying it to a partner, to your mother, to the friend without children; and noticing that you have turned.

The guide draws on them and asks in your words. It never hands you a list.

Sessions you can name and come back to. They are kept until you delete them, so the thinking accumulates instead of starting over. There is no read path for anyone at Willow Reed, by design rather than by setting. If you ask the guide to hold something, it will. If you ask it to let something go, it is gone.

You write what you have. The guide says back what it actually heard, in fewer words than you used, and asks one question. One, not a checklist, and never two in a turn.

Replies are short on purpose. A woman in the middle of this is often typing one-handed at four in the morning, and brevity is what makes room for yours.

It will not tell you that you are a good mother. You have heard it, it did not work, and offered here it reads as a door closing.

Use it as much as you like, for as long as the subscription is active.
